Happy Holidays!

Just a quick post to wish all of you out there a very happy holiday this season, whatever your celebration, from me and all the sims I write and play!

The Wainwrights from Wainwrights and Wrongs send you their best for a very happy Winterfest. I know so far you’ve only seen their poor little house in the summer, but as you can see, they can still squeeze a tree in when they have to. Besides, more obstacles just mean it’s harder for Vlad to get around if he breaks in again, right?

Dear old Boyd and Susan from Brilliant Minds have lived to see another Snowflake Day, and both they and their family are elated about it. Susan is less elated about that Santa beard on her husband that he kept going after a “No-Shave November” challenge he and Patrick took on together for fun. You may recall that Susan is not a fan of facial hair and occasionally grumps at Patrick about his rock star stubble look, and how Boyd said that was the reason he never grew one. That and he looked like a gnome if he did. However, one night as November approached, Patrick asked Boyd if it really looked that bad, as he’d never even seen a picture of him with one. He said fine, sure, why not? Then, since it was so close to Snowflake Day, he figured he might as well roll with it and be Santa with the real beard, too. It was keeping him warm in that cold weather. Susan didn’t even mind. Rumor has it that she bought him a brand new high-tech razor in his stocking, however.

Patrick kept his beard after “No-Shave November” too, going for a festive Father Winter kind of look to celebrate that he and Maria are soon going to have a second child, while little Jessica grows bigger and more curious about the world around her every day, like a true eccentric little Wainwright. Plumboptimus, Buddy, and the two other dolls also joined in for the picture, although Patches is only half-present in the world with Iris away at Sims University and Jessica’s little Fluffs is not yet fully awakened. Maria has been enjoying the comforts of home this winter, working on her novel and hoping that her next baby will be as lucky as Jessica and skip her dreaded curse.

Orion, Tara, Andromeda and Connie also wish you a happy Snowflake Day from their home, a very happy one for them indeed as it’s Andromeda’s first. They went all out with the fun festive outfits to make the celebration as merry and bright as they could for her.

Although she’s away at Sims University, Iris sends her holiday greetings as well.

And always the ones to prove that while you may have to get old, you don’t have to act it, Blair and Cycl0n3 had some holiday fun to share, too. Blair dressed nicely (though you can’t see her glowing nose reindeer socks – a present from Chris!) but Cycl0n3 decided to put a peppermint twist on the “pink nightmare” bunny outfit from the holiday classic movie about the kid who was going to shoot his eye out with a plum-b gun. Travis also got festive, since his grumpy heart warms a little on Snowflake Day, and wore a holiday tie and Santa hat. Cybelle didn’t have any holiday accessories, but considering she decorated the house for them, we’ll give her a pass.

Last but not least, the Wolff-Sw0rd family. Tad and Chris in their holiday sweaters, Simwave tending the fire, and yes, that’s Raul who aged to teen (minor spoiler, oops) next to little Danielle, Esmeralda in the back, and Hilda up front. The game was getting testy about CAS so Hilda and Esme just got their regular formal wear rather than new outfits, but they’re pretty and classy, so it’s cool. Diddy and Princess are in the picture, but little Princess is being a prima donna and won’t face the camera. She’s cute, but sassy. Sadly, Morgana and Caleb were not available for the picture due to the game being typical TS3 touchy, and I wasn’t going to risk a crash. I’m sure they enjoyed their Snowflake Day with Stiles, though.

Happy Holidays!

It’s that time of year again!  In the spirit of the season, the Wainwrights are posing for their annual holiday picture.  Now that the family is far too big to try putting them all in one shot even on a year that did not have 2020’s track record, I decided to do one for each household instead.

This first one is the active household as it stands currently in the story.  This time, Maria insisted that everyone look “festive, but classy” for Jessica’s first Snowflake Day.  “No tacky t-shirts with bad puns or glowing reindeer antler headbands, please,” were her exact words.  They were all happy to oblige, although nobody minded Boyd’s Santa hat or semi-questionably tacky tie. Buddy and Patches both got in the shot this time, too.

Since Blair’s household missed the fun last year, she took a cue from her parents and sister-in-law and did one at her house, too.  She was a little less firm with the “festive, but classy” rule, and let Cycl0n3 pop on a candy cane top hat that he declared was classy, because, hey, it’s a top hat, right?  She did her own hair up in a bow, and even grumpy Travis got festive with a Santa hat and holiday shirt.  Even he doesn’t enjoy being a grinch on Snowflake Day.

This is Orion and Tara’s first Snowflake Day as a newlywed couple in their new home, so they posed for a holiday picture by the fireplace under the mistletoe.

Also, as a side note, I realized after I posted that while I updated the sims around town on the Children of Sunset Valley page, I forgot to update Orion and Tara, even though they were a main focus of the last chapter. So, that has been rectified, and they are now together reflecting their marriage in the “related to the active household” section.

Last, but not least, we have the Wolff-Sw0rd branch of the extended Wainwright clan and their holiday family portrait.  They, too, heard about Maria’s “festive, but classy” request, but they put their own spin on it.  Whether this has to do with the fact that Chris wore a cat t-shirt that said “Meowy Snowflake Day” while both Caleb and Hilda came to Grandma and Grandpa Wainwright’s holiday celebration sporting glowing reindeer horns last year has anything to do with it, is up to you to decide.  Magnanimous guy that he is, Chris certainly would not want to run afoul of his dear sister-in-law/aunt’s expressed wishes, and Tad certainly would never troll his beloved, if not dramatic, sister, now would he?

That said, the outfits are classy, because, like his father, Chris feels that his holiday fireworks top hat and candy cane tie going with his snowflake suit fits Maria’s rules perfectly.  As a bonus, the snowflake design hides the cat hair that dear old Diddy and his stray furry pals outside might leave on it.  The rest of the family just went with holiday sweaters, and Morgana and Caleb went the extra step of a Santa hat, but they all had fun with it.

And with that, I hope all of you reading have a great holiday and happy new year!

The Children of Sunset Valley – Brilliant Minds Edition

As I’ve played the Brilliant Minds save, I’ve been making over everyone as they age up.  One of my favorite aspects of NRaas Story progression is that it makes the townies have children (which EA’s was supposed to do, but stopped doing many patches ago) so your family lines in town will continue outside of your active household.

I decided to make a post introducing the all of the born-in-game children that are in this universe, since they won’t all necessarily make it into the story itself.  I plan to update this post every so often with new additions and updated pictures and traits as the sims age.

I’ll start with the active household, the Wainwrights, then move on to their family members, and after that, go in chronological order of birth.

My goal is to keep this post roughly on the timeline of the last posted chapter, so if you’re behind on reading, there may be spoilers.  I will also link to the pictures of their theoretical young adult selves so you can see how they’ll look as adults as far as facial structure and coloring.  I’ll only post those as links since I’ll most likely style them differently when they reach that stage in game.  Pictures appearing in this post itself are how the sim actually looks in game.
